    1. Describe the conditions necessary for life.
    2. Explain why the temperature of the Earth is mild (distance from the Sun and greenhouse effect)
    3. Recognize that all living things are composed of he same substances and name them.
    4. Recognize that all living things are formed by cells and explain what a cell is.
    5. State the three arguments of cell theory.
    6. Establish the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and between animal and plant cells.
    7. Given a diagram of a cell, name the parts of the cell and explain their functions.
    8. Explain what each vital function consists of.
    9. Explain the types of nutrition.
    10. Describe the processes of nutrition.
    11. Describe the processes of interaction.
    12. Establish the differences between sexual and asexual reproduction.
    13. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction.
    14. Describe the types of asexual reproduction for cells (cell division).
    15. Explain what taxonomy is.
    16. Name the main taxa: kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species.
    17. Explain the concept of species and how they are named.
    18. Explain what a tissue, an organ and a system are.
    19. Know the levels of organization of organisms and give an example of each level.
    20. List the characteristics of the five kingdoms and give an example of each kingdom:
      1. Unicellular/multicellular.
      2. Prokaryotic/eukaryotic cells.
      3. Heterotrophs/autotrophs.
      4. With/without tissues, organs or systems.
    21. Given a set of things, classify them.
    22. Given a text, organize the main ideas into a mind map.
